Juneau
Spring 2010

 Feb 15 - 19
Lisa's Labs is traveling to Juneau for week of science lab workshops. Don't miss out on this fun week of dissections, experiments and lectures (by a ventriloquist puppet!). This fun opportunity will be additionally enhanced by its location!
Classes will be held in the DIPAC visitors center, and the live specimens in the aquariums and touch tank will be incorporated into the lessons. The focus of these labs is to give students a lab opportunity with an emphasis on dissections and experiments.

 Grades 2-4  /  9:00 - 11:00
$155
Let's take a tour of fundamentals of biology, with experimentation  and dissection.  This smorgasbord of biology will include the study of cells, organs and systems of all the kingdoms. By comparing the diversity and similarities of organisms and their structures, students will develop an elementary concept of the complex organization of biology.

See below for payment and location.
Critter Class I: INVERTEBRATES

This workshop is a companion to the vertebrate workshop, taught last semester.  In this study of zoology we will take a more detailed look at invertebrates and further explore the scientific classification system. This five-day study will feature specimens representative of the major groups of invertebrates! Here is the opportunity to become more familiar with the aquatic animal that are commonly found in tidal zones.  You will see the complexity of invertebrates study the characteristics of how they differ from invertebrates. Each workshop will consist of a lecture period, class discussion/activity and dissection. In order to accommodate two grade ranges, two sections of this workshop will be offered. No prerequisites or prior science studies required.

Location: DIPAC Fish Hatchery, Visitors Center
